Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan celebrates its foundation on 15 December every year. KVS Foundation Day 2024 is the 61st year of its existence. It was established in 1963. Initially Kendriya Vidyalaya was established with 20 regimental schools. At present 1256 Kendriya Vidyalayas which includes three KVs of abroad Moscow, Tehran, and Kathmandu.

Kendriya Vidyalaya is affiliated with CBSE-Central Board of Secondary Education. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is functioning under the Ministry of Education.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS) was established in the year 1963 under the name Central School Organization afterward its name was changed to Kendriya Vidyalaya.
