Who I am?
For a long time, I have been thinking about sharing some words with you. But, first let me introduce myself. I am 4.5 billion years old and the third planet of your solar system and probably the only one to harbour life. Also, they call me 'The Blue planet'. I am Earth, your own mother earth,a mother you not be able to recall, because of the short sight of yours, which allows you to see only your short term gains, not the long term losses.
What I do for you?
My dear children, I am pretty sure that all you know about whatever I am doing to keep you alive and active,though you never show any willingness to accept it. So it is necessary to remind you of the privileges you do have while living in my warm lap and tender care.First of all, you should consider yourself luckiest for being on such a planet that supports life, unlike other known planets in the universe. Not only, I provide you the air to breathe, water to drink and food to eat, those are much essential for your life, I also fulfill all your basic needs without discrimination.
What you do to me?
Though, you can be happy with less, but you never enjoy what you have. Your needs are everlasting, so is your greed. You consume too much, much more than you should. While doing so, you never realise how much your greed is affecting me. You are constantly destroying me by cutting the trees, killing the poor animals and birds till they become extinct, flattening the mountains, mining the fields, polluting the air, rivers and other water bodies, frequently engaging in wars with lethal weapons. These inhuman activities of human beings are leading me toward a slow death. There are millions of species of birds, animals, mammals and insects, those live with me, but only you who create problems.
How I feel?
Often I think that why should I care, if you don't care for me, But remember, I am a mother and a mother always tries to forgive her children. Though it is a universal truth. also a mother may feel helpless at a certain point.For instance I have a capacity to carry about 10 billion people, and your present population will achieve this number by 2100 A.D. What will you do to survive after it? I am very anxious and afraid of this prospective scenario, where people will start to other to control the natural resources. Even the survivors will not be able to enjoy the rewards of their winning. They would have to pay for the damage of what you are doing today. Be awake, my children, before it gets too late.
What you can do?
It seems a bit difficult, but not impossible to save the future. By doing and not doing some small things you can make me a safer and pleasant planet to live forever. Reduce the use of fossil fuels, lethal chemicals, plastics and all killing components and embrace nature as much as you can. Also, respect my biodiversity, protect the trees, seas, lakes, rivers and other living beings that co exist with you, this will definitely make a difference. And when you would opt the path of sustainable growth that will create magic.

Conclusion
Still if you are clueless about what can be done, just ask your parents and grandparents about their life during the days when the dependency on un-natural items was far less than now. Not all, but some of the things you can adopt for my betterment and to save the environment and nature, because your small steps can make a big difference.
